I have recently finished taking classes through the Sechia Institute for Culinary Education, in conjunction with Grand Rapids Community College, in their Baking and Pastries program. In this program I learned how to improve my own baking techniques, create new recipes, work in a commercial bakery, create high end desserts, bake and decorate cakes for any occasion, and even create sculptures from chocolate and sugar.
Using this education, my goal is to work in my community and create new opportunities for local businesses and customers. I love working with breads and simple desserts (pies, cookies, brownies, tarts, cupcakes, etc.). At this point in time I am looking to gain experience in the industry and learn more about what I can offer my community.
